Jacob's Hall Renovation

Danville Area Community Collage,

Danville, Illinois

GHR provided complete MEP-FP and Technology design services and will provide full construction administration for this project. Mechanically, this project included replacing the facility's existing air handlers, boilers and remote condensing units with all new. The new mechanical system included a new variable-volume air handler; high efficiency, condensing type boilers and associated pumps; and a single, new, high efficiency remote condensing unit.  All new piping and ductwork was provided.  Electrically, a new electrical service (to serve Jacobs Hall main power and fire pump) was provided by extending a feed from the near-by clock tower.  The main electrical switchboard in the clock tower needed to be modified to facilitate the feed extension.  All existing lighting and power devices were removed and replaced.  All new electrical distribution was provided throughout the building.  Additionally, GHR provided design services for all network wiring and supporting network/IT infrastructure (racks, patch panels, etc.).  New multi-mode fiber was extended from the near-by clock tower in order to set up a new network distribution frame.  Structured cabling (Cat6A) was installed from the new network rack to all network jack locations.  With respect to plumbing and fire Protection, GHR provided designs for site utility work to facilitate this project; specified all new plumbing fixtures and domestic hot water heating equipment; specified a new fire pump; and provided a complete fire protection design.
